Fall Seven times, Stand Up height, this is where the glory is. — Tina Lobondi
Born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, I grew up between Paris and Nancy, France. Moving to London to study Fashion design and learning English was a dream come true. This is the city where my career started but also where I decided to launch my own brand of luxury ready-to-wear under my name.
My style is quite distinctive and gave me the opportunity to dress some of the biggest names in the art and entertainment industry, including Thandie Newton, Kanya King MBE, Lianne La Havas, Neha Dhupia and Noella Coursaris. I have worked with international clientele such as Fashion TV, BBC Africa and Fashion Africa TV, as well as prominent magazines and newspapers from Forbes Woman Africa and Vogue Italia to Marie-Claire and New African Woman.
I do mentor individuals who are serious about becoming a fashion designer, a stylist or style consultant developing a global fashion business.
Congo has always been in my heart and being concerned about the future of my country led me to start my first social initiative ESIMBI (meaning “it works” in Lingala, one of the spoken languages in DRC). We support education, apprenticeship and employment in the field of the Arts and Creativity, in order to give a sustainable way of life for the children and the youth of the DRC and the UK. We didn’t want to stop there so I created the magazine ESIMBI so we could showcase the best of Congo and its culture to inspire the new generation of congolese and empower them to follow their dreams.
This blog is a continuity of what I want to achieve. Fashion, beauty, lifestyle, education and travel are topics I am passionate about and which are part of my daily life. I want to share this journey with you and through “ Philanthropist in Heels”, I will be able to give tips on my favourite products, my designing process, my social initiative and the Fashion industry I am trying to conquer.
This is the opportunity for us to connect and for me to provide you with the essential tools you will need to get into the fashion industry as well as teach you to promote and sell your products.
